Mangos aren’t always the cheapest fruit, but when you compare the price of these ingredients to your average healthy dessert you’ll see it’s definitely a good budget option.
To keep from overspending and also getting the best fruit, buy these when they’re in season or on sale rather than in the off season. You only need one or two for a dessert for the family!

2 mangos
1 lime
Directions
- Turn on the broiler and start preheating. Be sure to line your pan with foil.
- Slice of both ends of the mango. You should be able to see the seed. Carefully stand the mango up and remove the skin.
- Cut the mango in half to create two long halves and cut the seed out.
- Cut each mango into 8 long slices each.
- Cut the lime in half. One half will be cut into thin slices while the other half will be set aside for later.
- Spread the lime slices around on the pan and then place the mango slices on top.
- Broil until they start to brown. Remove lime slices, flip mango, broil for another minute or two until they’re browned on both sides.
- Squeeze juice from the remaining half of the lime over the mango and serve hot.
