Rather than go cold turkey with your snacking habits, instead go for some of these tasty, low calorie snacks that are the perfect addition to your diet plan.

Air Popped Popcorn

Popcorn might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a healthy snack, but it might just be the one that fits into what you need. The greasy, buttery stuff that you pop in the microwave is loaded with fat and calories, but air popped popcorn is great because it’s tasty and filling without having a lot of negative nutritional value.

The best part is that you can flavor it however you want (within responsible reason) and the light nature of popcorn makes it filling without eating a whole bunch of it.

Kalamata Olives

Olives probably aren’t something you’d think of right away when it comes to a healthy snack, but you’d be pleasantly surprised how tasty and healthy they are for you. Specifically. Kalamata olives, they’re super tasty and filled with 75% healthy monosaturated fat.

Blueberries

Fresh fruits and vegetables are tasty and (usually) good for you, but blueberries are really something else. They’re small so you can pop a few in your mouth at a time so it feels like you’re getting more and they’re also packed with antioxidants.

One cup of them is just under 100 calories, freeze and portion them for a crunchy morning pick me up or a delicious, fruity flavor that will thaw out in time for lunch.

A Latte

If you need a little bit of a coffee fix to help you wake up or keep you going, a latte might be just what you need. A small latte made with skim milk and minus any added flavoring syrups well help warm and wake you up without throwing your diet completely off track.

Just make sure that if you order at a coffee shop that you don’t go overboard with an additional muffin or other breakfast snack (no matter how tempting it looks)!
